Citrine Silver

Citrine here is not the bright, hard yellow the name suggests. The colour reads as warm honey, and because it arrives in many small stones rather than one large one, it never sits as a solid block — closer to soft daylight than anything sharp. Three of the four pieces are gold-plated, which warms it further; the Jhalar is left as plain silver, which keeps it cooler and paler.

The necklaces differ mainly in how they carry the colour. Jhalar, ₹7,150, is named for the fringe on a dupatta and behaves like one: a full row of pale citrine drops along a silver collar, so the light is scattered across many small points rather than pooled in one. Dhoop, at ₹9,240, means sunlight, and a collar sits close — the colour stays at the base of the neck instead of hanging below it. Kiran, ₹13,150, gathers the same stone into a tassel, kiran being a ray of light, and it is the one to choose if you want a single necklace to do all the work.

Jhumar, ₹6,660, is the only pair of earrings and the only piece that brings in rose quartz alongside the citrine; the pink sits under the honey and softens it. Chandelier earrings do the work a necklace would, so this is the sensible buy if the necklace you already own is the one you actually wear.

This is the most expensive corner of the shop, and it is worth saying where the money goes. Stones are bezel-set in the studio — a collar of silver worked around each one by hand, rather than glue or claws — and a fringe or a tassel means that operation repeated many times over. Gold plating here is a warm surface over solid 925 sterling, not a gold colour over base metal.
